In archaic Greek sculpture the Kore is the representation of a woman, mainly in the role of mother and wife, sculpted in a rigid standing pose. Still nowadays women’s bodies and their representations are constantly twisted, idealised and violently appropriated by patriarchal societies. The Kore project aims at reclaiming women’s bodies and images for themselves. By overturning the image of a woman as canonised and socially constrained, the project celebrates women – the variety of their bodies in poses that are free, without restrictions or barriers – from a multidimensional and intersectional point of view. Specifcally, the kore project wants to promote its values through the production of a series of limited crafts. Furthermore, the project wants to spread its ideals and ideas in urban areas through the promotion of the kore brand. The project is a collaboration with Renée Bertini, the creative director and artist, on my side I focus on the website design and social media creative development.
